In a short video posted by Sumeet Kumar Bajaj, a friend and tennis partner of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, on Instagram, the former Indian cricket team captain is seen seated inside a BMW 7-Series sedan, signing his autograph on the rear seat. The footage captures Dhoni meeting one of his fans named Abhishek Kerketta, the proud owner of the newly purchased BMW 7-Series.
Following their encounter, Dhoni graciously signed the rear armrest of the sedan with his autograph. During a conversation with Dhoni, Abhishek extended an offer to sign an autograph anywhere in the car, to which Dhoni happily agreed. The cricketer chose to sign the curtain of the rear centre armrest, serving as the partition between the rear seats and the boot compartment of the car. After completing the autograph, Mahendra Singh Dhoni posed for a picture with Abhishek, who later shared the moment on his Instagram account.
Before departing, Dhoni took a moment to appreciate Abhishek’s choice of wheels, admiring the elegance of the black-colored 7-Series. In the video, Dhoni is also seen inspecting the roof-mounted 31.3-inch 8K foldable screen, functioning as the rear-seat entertainment screen in the 7-Series. The flagship sedan from BMW further boasts a premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system, offered as standard.
The video of Mahendra Singh Dhoni signing the rear armrest of the BMW 7-Series quickly gained traction, earning praise for Dhoni’s humility. Netizens expressed amusement at the overall interaction between Dhoni and the owner of the 7-Series. One comment from a netizen humorously suggested that Dhoni’s signature might be more valuable than the car itself, given the esteemed personality of the former Indian cricket team captain.
